Franz Grabner Award Nomination
In "GET RID OF IT - The Art of Disposal" by Karin Berghammer, the philosopher and artist Elisabeth von Samsonow goes to the places where the excreta of our society are collected, moved, sorted and, with luck, also given a new purpose. She observes, sniffs and describes, and lets us share in her reflections, which are as profound as they are humorous, and with which she repeatedly encourages us to rethink the familiar.
We are thrilled that our film GET RID OF IT – The Art of Disposal is nominated for the Franz Grabner Award 2023 in the category "Best TV Documentary"!
"The award is given for an ethically and morally responsible and credible approach
by filmmakers to their medium".
As part of this year's Diagonale, the Franz Grabner Award for Humanistic Documentary Filmmaking in Television and Cinema, established in 2017, will be awarded for the sixth time. The award in memory of the ORF journalist and long-time director of the ORF TV cultural programme Franz Grabner (1955-2015) - initiated by the Grabner family, AAFP, Film Austria, ORF and the Styrian Film Festival - honours filmmakers for their ethically and morally responsible and credible approach to the medium.
