ART AND CLIMATE - FROM PROTEST TO UTOPIA | ARTE Film Premiere on April 1

What role can contemporary art play in times of climate crisis?
This question lies at the heart of the documentary Art and Climate - From Protest to Utopia, co-written by Karin Berghammer. Director Mathias Frick and journalist Leonie Sontheimer take the audience on a journey to meet artists such as Olafur Eliasson, Sebastião Salgado, and Agnes Denes — voices whose work offers tangible impulses for engaging with the climate crisis.

The documentary film celebrates its premiere on April 1, 2025, at Silent Green Kulturquartier in Berlin. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion in English with Leonie Sontheimer, Olafur Eliasson, and Johan Rockström (Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research).
